Another pair of Weddings to start the month of June! Let’s get to the recaps!
It was Dustie & Carl’s Wedding on Saturday at the elegant Millennium Center in downtown Winston-Salem, NC.
Following their Ceremony off-site, guests were treated to the sounds of The Muddy River Jazz Band for Cocktail hour.
The Introductions of the Bridal Party featured “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, “Let’s Get Married” by Jagged Edge & “Forever” by Chris Brown. Dustie & Carl then went into their First Dance as everyone looked on. “The Offering” by The Avett Brothers was their selection. It was then time for the Father/Bride dance with Edwin McCain’s “Walk With You” being chosen. For the Mother/Groom dance, “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong was picked.
After Dinner, it was time to cut the Cake. Nat King Cole’s “L.O.V.E.” was chosen for this festivity.
The Dance Party then started with some Beach/Shag music by The Platters & then featured lots of Oldies, 80’s & 90’s & some Top 40 to round out the evening. Following a sparkler exit, an after-party ensued in the gallery section of the venue. The music changed slightly with a focus on more House & Hip-Hop with some throwbacks like Nelly’s “Ride Wit’ Me” keeping the dance floor moving.
On Sunday, Nutishia & Charles held their big day at The Museum of Life & Science in Durham, NC.
For the Ceremony, as guests were arriving a mix of Classical music was played. For the Mom’s & Bridal Party, “For You I Will” by Monica was chosen. “Marry Me” by Train was Nutishia’s Entrance song. Halfway through, Charles did an acapella version of a song he wrote as his Bride was walking down the aisle. Cool moment! For their Unity Sand Ceremony, Jason Mraz’s “Lucky” was played. Finally, for their Recessional song, “Brighter Than The Sun” by Colbie Caillat was picked.
For their Cocktail hour, they chose a Motown music theme as their guests entered the main tent.
After Cocktails, it was time for the Introductions of the Bridal Party. “Turn Down For What” by Lil Jon was selected. As Nutishia & Charles walked in, they immediately went to the dance floor for their First Dance. It was a personal favorite of mine and a song by Ed Sheeran called “Lego House.” Following the Best Man & Maid of Honor Toasts was Dinner. They chose a Smooth Jazz theme of music for Dinner.
Following Dinner, it was then time for the newlyweds to cut the Cake. They chose “Suga Suga” by Baby Bash for this occasion. Following the Cake Cutting, Open Dancing then commenced with lots of Top 40 & a few line dances like “The Wobble” & “Cupid Shuffle” requested by guests. For their Finale, guests blew bubbles all around them as they danced to Savage Garden’s “Truly, Madly, Deeply.”
Thanks again to Nutishia & Charles for having me there!
